Now let me just clarify this is all my own opinion, and have spent the last week + burning a candle in each of my two rooms.
where to buy them from is down below!
There are a few sections to compare these two candles on being :
- scent
- hours able to burn ( how long they are estimated to burn for in total.
- the presentation - the candle holder/jar, colours and details
- the price
Firstly, let's start with the - scent strength and name of the scent
Candle 1: is called " gingerbread cookie" this scent is exactly gingerbread but with a touch of sweetness and vanilla. this scent has always been a favourite as for some reason it reminds me of Christmas in a jar? never know why but it has so obviously the scent for me is absolutely love. the scent strength for me isn't very strong ( probably will never be) this isn't a bad thing I'm not saying this very strong, I'm saying I don't think there is strength out there that I wouldn't be like " give me moreeee" but to the people on the household with me it is very strong after speaking I'm going to give it a
7/10.
Candle 2. Is called “ gingerbread” Yet again the scent is so nice, definitely more on the cinnamon side and less vanilla/ cookie side, soft and sweet scents, this is very pure gingerbread scent, which obviously I absolutely love. The scent strength is so strong personally. Yet again never strong enough for me, but for normal people, this is plenty and is defiantly stronger due to not having that cookie side in it. The name I think is clear and easy. 8/10
Hours of burn.
Candle 1. Candle one can burn for 45/50 hours now for the price which is further down is very good for the age and the presentation which I go into more detail in about further down as well. Now I think this is a very reasonable amount of hours considering the price and size of this candle, and I have nothing bad to say about this candle for price/size/comparison etc. 7/10
Candle 2 can burn for 90+ hours which is just under double of the previous candle, for pretty much the same price. , however, the candle doesn’t look as pretty or whatever the amount of burning time for this candle is ridiculous and I absolutely love this about this candle, especially as someone who likes to burn for hours on end every day, yes scent strength is important but I don’t want to be spending extra money 2/3 times a week to keep replacing the candle if I can have one candle and it lasts 2 weeks+. 9/10
The presentations
Candle 1.
- the jar, this jar is beautiful is the perfect fall time colours of this pumpkin orange, that has a beautiful little bow around it, the jar feels heavy and good, something that even when this candle has finished I will keep the jar and reuse as much as possible.
- the labels - the label is the cutest, with a little gingerbread man on the front which I a sultry love so much, and this is a very small label so if you didn’t want the label you can turn round the candle and its not all the way around.
- something I also love so much about this candle is that it has a jar lid, I hate blowing out candles and you spent hours making your rooms smell nice and then sadly it smells of burnout wiXs, it's also so much safer to put the lid of the jar on and keep it like that! 8/10
Candle 2.
- the jar, this jar is very simple and clear, however, the candle wax has a colour so this jar once finished with can be used again for whatever you want, and all year round due to being able to customize it. , the label is simple but feels very Christmas, and a little bit more “adulty“ which doesn’t bother mean but I know the other label looks a little more child-friendly etc.
- I love about this candle is that it also a glass jar with a lid and that the jar is reuseable as I Have had multiple of these candles as they have been around for so long! I also now use these jars for such things as baking powders and other powder/ ingredient canisters which saves me buying new ones from IKEA or anywhere else. they just need a good soak to get rid of the gingerbread scent! 7/10
The price finally!
Candle 1 was from B&M and was priced about £2.50 - £3.00 ( i have looked on the website and not been able to find it on there but will try to look instore and update. 6/10
Candle 2 was from Home Bargains and was £2.99 but is being sold online for 8-10 on unofficial websites! 8/10
The official "unofficial" grade for both candles other the last
Candle 1. - 28/40 - Candle 1 wins on looks and is definitely nice even when not burned
Candle 2. - 32/40 - Candle 2 wins of amount for money.
